Interruptus Angelfish

Centropyge interrupta

The Interruptus Angelfish is one of the most coveted and prestigious dwarf angelfish in the marine aquarium hobby. Native to the temperate waters of southern Japan and surrounding Pacific islands, this exceptionally rare species displays a breathtaking combination of golden-orange coloration accented by iridescent blue markings and subtle electric-blue highlights throughout the body and fins. Growing to approximately 6 inches (15 cm) in length, the Interruptus Angelfish is among the largest members of the dwarf angelfish family and makes a stunning centerpiece in both reef and fish-only aquariums.

Known for its active nature and outgoing personality, the Interruptus Angelfish adapts well to aquarium life when provided with a mature environment, high water quality, and a varied omnivorous diet. It readily accepts premium pellets, frozen foods, marine algae, and sponge-based preparations. While generally more reef-compatible than many larger angelfish species, occasional coral nipping may occur. Its extraordinary rarity, exceptional coloration, and limited collection availability have established the Interruptus Angelfish as one of the most sought-after angelfish species in the world.
